The overall perspective is more important than the actual objects.

When designing use as few values as possible


  • Ask yourself while drawing: is it looking the way I pictured it? How am I picturing it?
  • Keep things graphic in nature dimensional in execution

  • Reduce into basic shapes and value
  • Conscious design choices required

  • Shape/design=large rhythms
  • Form = contours/etching/hatching

  • MAKE SURE READABLE WHEN YOU REDUCE VALUES 

REMEMBER: the relationship of the whole over the parts is extremely important. Focus on larger shapes, design and idea. 
Simple focus point. Make the scene easy to read.





Find and emphasize rhythms. Make excuses to show depth, overlap and form.
